Lloyd has been ok today. Quite quiet which I guess is to be expected. He came and sat on my lap for a bit earlier so I’m taking that as he forgives me. He kept trying to lick at his stitches so we put his collar thing on him that he had for his previous ops. I don’t think he is that keen on it but it’s better than a cone and way better than an infection.
I sat with him for most of the day and when I wasn’t with him I put him in his room which has a camera set up so I can keep an eye on him on a little monitor.
He went for another wee in the early hours but still no poops, he didn’t go at vets either so hasn’t been since Tuesday morning so keeping a close eye on that. We actually have a toilet chart for him as he was having so many problems before!
My mum just came round with some flowers for him 💙 and get well Cards and my sister popped in too with my nephew who loves Lloyd and gave him lots of treats.
He’s going back for post op check tomorrow so will update then.
Awww Lloyd, you look so chill! I’m glad that you are on the mend and being such a good boy. That recovery room is PURRFECT! What a lucky kitty you are.
Super duper hoppy to know things are going well. You’ll be 100% in no time at all. Just don’t bother that incision (good job leaving a cone-of-shame on him, Joanne!), and you’ll be good to go.
Keep us posted!
Awe Lloyd, you are such a handsome guy! I just read thru your posts wow so sorry this has been such a rough road. We know how scary it is to have to take the limb but he is going to amaze you on three! Purrkins amazes us every day!
He looks great good and doped on the Fentanyl patch! Quiet, doped, resting, eating, drinking using the litter box is exactly what you want.
Good boy Lloyd rest is best and I am sure you are going to feel so much better without that bum leg.
Make sure they send you home with more pain meds tomorrow. Think in human terms is 3 days enough meds for us after an amputation. No way and not for a cat either.
We have a toilet chart and litter cam for our boys too:) life-saving. If Lloyd has not pooped you can give him Miralax to help that along. Pain meds constipate and its normal for poop to take a bit. I gave Purrkins tiny doses 1/16th tsp the 6th day and 1/8 tsp on the 7th day. We got poop day 8💩. His brother gets Miralax everyday 1/2 tsp 2 times a day vet approved. You need to add water for it to be effective it is a tasteless powder and should go undetected in food. I syringe it but many have just put in the wet food.
Keep healing Llyod give him a smooch from us, please.
Holly & Purrkins❤️
